And here it is! The preview of this year’s autumn offering releasing in the shop at 7:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, October 24th.
These pieces are part of the Nocturne Collection, an annual collection in time for Halloween. Everything has a dark, witchy aesthetic, sometimes whimsical and sometimes sombre.
All of these pieces are made of labradorite for its otherworldly flash, snakey greens and thundery blues. Labradorite is an iridescent gemstone with a fascinating schiller or metallic luster when viewed from certain angles. The base color of labradorite is a smokey gray, but when light strikes the stone in a particular direction, it displays striking rainbow-colored reflections.
Arachne Necklaces (v. I & II)

Each necklace is suspended from
a chain adjustable from 17-20″

This design consists of a whole spectrum of labradorite colors, including some quite rare colors, such as purples and oranges. Truly special gemstones!
Surrounding the pendants are carefully textured branch borders.
The backs of the pendants have been textured and a spider has been cut to reveal the stone beneath.
There is also one pendant that features a sterling silver pebble border around the stone.
And the back is textured to look like a spider’s web, and features a spider silhouette scuttling across the top.
Which is your favorite?
“Memento mori” is a Latin phrase which translates as “remember death.” Throughout art history, there has been a wide range of memento mori objects: Rennaissance paintings of decaying fruit, marble sculptures of skulls, morbid prayer beads, and so forth. All to remind the viewer of the transience of life.
And so, this is my interpretation of a memento mori to be released right before Allhallowtide begins: the time each year reserved for honoring the hallowed dead and faithfully departed.

This ring design consists of special coffin cut labradorites gemstones to rest atop the hand.
Single leafy poppies laid at the foot of the graves. I chose this because the poppy means “peace in death.”
Viney twist borders wrapping its way around the stones (nature’s reclamation) and two little sterling pebbles resting at the base.
And the words “memento mori” inscribed on the backs of the pendants and the insides of the rings.
This ring has been aged and hand-polished for a textured, organic look, and to bring out the lowlights and accent the stone.
Memento Mori Earrings
There will be 9 pairs of earrings available.
Each earring measures about 1.25″ from
top to bottom, not including the ring.

I decided to use the same stones as the rings, their small size make for lovely, light earrings.
Some of the earrings I paired with stones very similar in color and dome height, but then others I chose for their juxtaposition.
Slightly mismatched, but complimenting each other beautifully.
They are suspended from sterling silver French earwires.
And if I can finish them in time, there will also be a very small handful of Memento Mori necklaces with the petite coffin gemstones. Dainty little totems to wear under autumnal sweaters.
If I am unable to finish them in time for the official collection, they will release secretly in the following days.
