What a summer I have had! We spent the summer in a little mountain cabin; soaking up as much sunshine as we could, running hands through sweet-grass, and plucking flowers from every meadow we could.
And now I am feeling a bit like a honeybee myself, a summer spent also working away in my shadowy hive. Pushing golden citrine around my bench.
And this collection is the result of all that good work.
I tried to make this collection a big and beautiful as I could, since the Honeybee Collection is not one of my annual offerings. Since it will be a few years before the honeybees buzz back into the studio, I tried to make as much as I could in hopes that no one misses out on a design they love.
So without futher ado!

The boldest ring of the collection!
Warm dollops of honey-colored citrine above and below fluffy, hand-forged summer flowers.
There are tiny brass pollen granules floating around the flowers.
Deep shadows spill around the bright beams of citrine, just like cool dark of a summer forest.
And a secret honeybee detail on the underside of the ring.
They sit right atop the finger on a split double half-round band for stability and comfort.
They have been oxidized and hand polished for an organic look, and to bring out the low-lights.
These rings fit mostly true to size, perhaps a smidge snug. Lots of people responded to my call for opinions on the fit of this style, and most people found them to fit true to size. As always, they will be listed with the size they read on the mandrel.

Long, swaying dangle earrings made from flat-top hexagon-cut citrine gemstones specially cut for this design.
And mixed amongst the gemstones are carefully hand-textured flowers with warm brass centers of varying sizes.
Ornate and asymmetrical, each pair unique.
Earrings to represent the good work of field bees flitting from flower to flower.
A summer’s worth of sweet wildflower honey held in sterling silver and stone.

Phew!! These took a lot of work. But every time I have offered up the Honeybee Collection, they are always a favorite and I never seem to make enough.
So this time, I tried to make as many as I possibly could so that everyone who has wanted one could pluck one off the wind as they fly by.
These rings feature glowing, warm citrine gemstones set between two brass pollen granules, the result of the hard work of a little honeybee.
Set atop a half-round band for comfort.
It has been given a high polish to accentuate the sparkle of the stones.
Sweet and simple rings, like the summer nectar at the bottoms of flowers, yielded with the exchange of pollen.
Honeybee Compass Necklace
There will be 30 necklaces available.
Suspended from oxidized sterling silver chains,
adjustable from 17″ – 20″.
Price: $135
Truly creatures of summertime, bees use the sun as a fixed reference point. As such, the sun anchors their internal compasses, even on cloudy days.
When a bee finds a lovely patch of pollen and nectar-rich flowers, it maps the location by remembering the angle between the hive, the flowers, and the sun.
And so, I have created this piece for that glorious aspect of bee behavior: a honeybee compass.
This hexagon pendant features dots and lines radiating from the sunny citrine gemstone at the center.
There is an inscribed dot/line pattern to resemble a compass, though still feels a bit unruly and natural.
On the backs, there are secret honeybees, a summertime companion to accompany you throughout your day.
Honeybee Compass Earrings
There will be 29 pairs available
Each earrings measures about 22mm (0.86″) tall
Price: $130
For the first time, I have also made Honeybee Compass Earrings!
Just like the necklaces, they feature floating dots and lines radiating from the sunny citrine gemstones at the center.
The gemstones in these earrings are slightly asymmetrical, freeform and a little wobbly in shape.
All are faceted to drink the sunshine and hold the light in their bellies.
They are suspended from French style sterling earwires.
Apiary Rings
There will be 40 rings available.
Sizes available:
6, 6, 6.5, 6.5, 7, 7, 7.25, 7.25, 7.5, 7.5,
7.75, 7.75, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8.25, 8.75, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9,
9.25, 9.25, 9.25, 9.5, 9.5, 9.75, 9.75, 10, 10,
10.25, 10.25, 10.5, 10.75, 11, 11.25, 11.5, 11.75, 12
Price: $172
Goodness how I love these rings! I am convinced they can charm bees right out of their hives.
A ring made for apiarists and honey collectors.
Watching the endless rotation of honeybees depositing their pollen collections in their hives and then flying back off into the summer air.
This ring design is my attempt to capture those moments of observation.
These beauties take a tremendous amount of work. They are not cast, so each band and every bee silhouette were shaped and sawn one by one.
Each ring features a golden citrine gemstone, like a cup full of gooey honey to sit upon the hand.
And on either side of the stone built into the band are quick, shadowy bees heading towards or disappearing under the rim, like bees entering the slit to their hive.
A summery ring to honor that good, steady work of bees.
They fit so secure and cozy on the hand, as though they were part of the hand.
If you are planning to try to scoop one up, remember to look for a ring sized at least half a size up from your regular size. I list the rings as they measure on the mandrel, but since these have wide bands they will fit snug. For example, if you normally wear a size 7, look for a 7.5 or 7.75.
