Deep crimson and soft grey lace agate, layered lik

Deep crimson and soft grey lace agate, layered like years worn on the heart. And darkened silver cloud banks wrapping around your finger.

These five bold lace agate rings with hammered wide bands feature an undulating top edge and a lovely, big gemstone that sits close to the finger.

These are a liiiiiittle tricky to size because of the irregular width, but I would say look for a size that is 1/2 - 1 full size larger than your regular size, as with my other wide bands. I will always give the size as it reads on the mandrel so you can make your best judgement!

Hammered and blackened backs with a simple sword overlay. Because what is a more fitting representation of something made stronger through flame and hammer than a sword.

"Tempered" is one of those words I've been entranc

"Tempered" is one of those words I've been entranced by for a long time. (Which I suppose makes sense. English degree here! 🙋🏻‍♀️)

When describing a person, it usually means restrained or controlled, held back in some way. Behavior moderated, aligned to the needs surrounding them.

But when describing metal, "tempering" means to make stronger through heating, almost to a melting point, and then allowing to cool in the still air. And then repeating this process again and again, until the metal is much stronger than it was, although looks essentially the same on the outside.

And this word, (perhaps because I now work with metal, but my first introduction to it was through descriptions of people) has always held a strange melancholy magic.

Contained, moderated, held back.
Scorched, belaboured, made stronger.

I've known people who have led lives like that. These pieces honor them.

How pleased I am to begin sharing this collection

How pleased I am to begin sharing this collection with you! It will be called "Unsung."

This collection will be a series of odes written in metal and stone for those qualities of people that often go uncelebrated, or at least is not a primary focus of collective praise.

Within the Unsung Collection there will be a handful of different offerings released at different times.

Each offering within the Unsung Collection will feature a different gemstone and unsung quality.

I often create jewelry for its own self, a beautiful object, the translation of a honeybee into metal, the continuation of the ancient tradition of "memento moris." Claimed by any person that hears their call.

But this time, I wanted to create pieces with certain types of people in mind, in hopes that they find their way to them.

The first offering in the Unsung Collection will be made with lace agates in gray, deep burgundy, and purple. Soft shapes, but heavily worked by hammer. Hidden elements and contrary textures.   These pieces will be call "Tempered."

More Tempered pieces and explanation to come!

This collection was such a balm to create this time. Staring into these tiny worlds and imagining the quiet in their lilliputian landscapes. My favorite design I think was the "Owl's Path Ring". The Owl’s Path Rings

Wide bands with silhouettes of owls in flight overlayed on either side of the stone.

And around the bands are delicately hammered paths, like the owls are following a well-trodden trail through a darkening forest.

There are owls roosting and flying in all the corners of this collection. It felt good being able to talk a few little ones into settling atop your hand, as in this ring.
