Goodness, how lovely it is to be revisiting these serene silver owls amidst snowy dendritic agate landscapes. The rough textures, the deep oxidization, the cool blues and silvers and purples, it has all be so soothing and calming to work on.

There are owls roosting and flying in all the corners of this collection.
I was even able to talk a few little ones into settling atop your hand, as in this ring.
This ring is made from a natural, snowy dendritic agate/merlinite stone, which is set in a hand smithed bezel of sterling silver.
The gemstone features a winterscape that has been set to emphasize the frosty landscape.
The stone has been set atop a hand-forged, wide band with a silhouette of an owl in flight overlayed on either side of the stone.
And around the band is a delicately hammered path, like the owls are following a well trodden trail through a darkening forest.
The ring has been oxidized and given a satin polish, like a snowy forest at twilight.

As quiet as a walk through a snowy forest.
As with the rings above, each of these rings is made from carefully chosen dendritic agate gemstones.
I tried to choose the prettiest stones for the rings, all my favorites are here!
Each gemstone has been set atop a triple half-round band that measures about 6mm wide.
The band is not a complete circle, so each gemstone cup sits right atop the hand.
This keeps it from being too top-heavy or tippy.
(Which do you prefer for larger rings? For the gemstone to sit tall, or close to the hand?)
Around the stone is a carefully forged, hammered branch border.
Aged and textured to look like a gnarled leafless limb wrapping the gemstone in its arms.
Winter Owl Necklaces

I have tried to choose a favorite of these necklaces, but it might just be impossible.
For these necklaces, I tried to choose stones that varied widely in size, shape, clarity, dendrite shape, etc.
As you can see, we have rounds and ovals, as well as a few free-form lovelies.
I decided to created these necklaces with two different accents borders.
Some feature a beaded circlet resembling a line of stones stretching out into winter.
Others feature the classic hammered branch border, the sturdy, ancient arms of trees wrapping themselves around beautiful gemstones.
Hidden behind each pendant is a silhouette of an owl in flight sawn out of the back, revealing the winter scene from the back of the gemstone.
Quiet stewards keeping watch over the forest.
In each listing, I also include the measurement in millimeters to give you a specific idea of the size of each pendant.
I also photographed each necklace next to an American quarter (25mm wide) as well as in my hand. I also tried to divide the necklaces into size categories for quick browsing.
February Forest Earrings

I WISH I had been able to make more, but I realize too late that I only had these gemstone pairs left.
These earrings are made from dendritic agate in varying shapes, each set cut from the same rough so they match one another.
They are set in hand smithed bezels of sterling silver.
There is a rim around the stones which has been been textured to look like tree bark.
These are suspended from sturdy, simple french earwires.
And that’s everything! A small flock of owls and slices of winter to adorn yourself with.
